WELCOME TO INSTITUTIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)
IQAC, CU was established in January, 2015 at the behest of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (BUGC). The formative stages of IQAC greatly owed to the BUGC for its generous financial supports, and relentless sharing of knowledge and technical expertise. The passionate interest of the Chittagong University administration as well as its prudent and timely logistical support truly complemented the BUGC initiatives. IQAC has now become an integral component of the university organogram. The core objective of IQAC is to ensure and enhance quality in university education by organizing training programs, seminars and workshops on teaching, learning, and research; and also by bringing in structural changes in the program curriculums in line with the ‘best practices’ recognized internationally.
Let us go forward in this battle fortified by conviction that those who labour in the service of a great and good cause will never fail.
Our Story
Having a quality assurance regime in higher education in place is a global interest now. Over time, the number of higher education institutions (HEIs) following a structured quality assurance (QA) mechanism has just multiplied around the world. There has been an increased interest for the universities to involve external stakeholders in the governance structures. The HEIs have been introduced to quality assurance system internally with formal institutional approaches and documentations. This has been done with the establishment of quality assurance agencies such as the accreditation bodies at the national levels. The integration of Quality Assurance principles into higher education became effective in Europe under the Bologna Process which started in 1999.
